camillia + dave, the perfect casa adela wedding
how to begin to describe this...
These new yorkers really knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding; nothing traditional, out of the box, epic. And so it was.
It started the day before, when we met downtown to take those pre-wedding portraits around town, and then went to the rosewood hotel where family and friends were waiting at the Luna rooftop, famous for its beautiful view of San Miguel. people kept arriving; Laughter and hugs, food and cocktails until nightfall and that was the welcome party.
I must say that working with Cam and Dave throughout the year leading up to their event was such a pleasure, I knew they wanted a unique wedding experience, where everyone had an amazing time; a relaxed but elegant and classic day in their own way, with no time pressures, and they were up for anything. This may sound crazy, but the truth is that if you don't work out your wedding timeline and allow time for all those candid and artistic moments, then you won't have them. Spontaneity is something that happens especially when the couple is aware that they need those moments and prefer to have a more relaxed and spaced out day rather than a super complex, rushed itinerary with no time to create moments with their photographer. On this day, not only we did have enough time to take all the dream photos that a wedding day can have, but also to create, have fun and to be able to photograph the wedding from other perspectives; using three different types of film and five cameras. I was able to detach myself a little, having the freedom to move and experiment with the environment and the guests as well.
Everything in this wedding was different; from the attitude of the bride and groom (very similar to the previous wedding in my journal that you can see here), a relaxed ceremony wearing sunglasses officiated by one of the best friends, a more casual bridal party and everything else...
Everyone's outfits were wow in a bohemian yet elegant style, perfect for a venue like Casa Adela and that European, Italian vibe that this location has. The cocktail hour on the terrace was splendid, with the beautiful views and the romantic pink of the sunset. Camillia wore a dreamy long sleeve wedding gown by Danielle Frankel, accompanied by the wonderful look she created with the accessories; worth mentioning that pearl infinity necklace because she looked like a botticelli girl coming out of the sea. with a classic look, Dave was like a vintage Hollywood star.
The floral design and all decoration; from the ceremony to the table setting was super gorgeous. It is no surprise to say that Vale (From Maye Cordova’s team) is one of my favorite florists in San Miguel! the atmosphere they created was so cool and romantic all day long with the different types of flowers, the candlelights and the aromas of fresh fruits; a magical part of the table decoration.
At dinner time in the main patio, Camillia and Dave made their entrance and quick first dance to the rhythm of " Electric Feel" and Maye Cordova's family style food was served, delicious as always. the live rock band started playing while everyone danced. There was no dance floor, no rules, but there was rock and roll everywhere, it was a summer wonderland.
and it wasn't all over, Camillia changed her outfit for the third time, because why not? now for a short barbie pink dress for party time. They poured champagne in their magic tower of glasses, while the saxophone played and a disco ball lit them up inside. then, the party continued in the pool area. It was the best unplanned pool party ever. When Camillia jumped in the water Dave followed her and all their friends after, even Dave's father! Everyone kept dancing in and out of the water.
They had champagne and beer, and tepache on their hands to follow the handmade cigars and a magical disco ball floated above the pool with spotlights that warmly illuminated the whole scenario of love celebration.
A perfect "Casa Adela" wedding. Thank you guys for choosing me, I'm missing you a lot!
