shaeda + brian, dreamy destination wedding at casa hyder, san miguel de allende

Omg these two.

There are so many words, still so few to describe how wonderful these two days were. Shaeda and Brian came to me in the most unexpected way and from our first contact, I immediately knew that I wanted to be their wedding photographer and make them feel as special as they did with me as well. There were three events; a callejoneada to receive all the party people who traveled from all over to San Miguel de Allende, a welcome party in Terraza Trinitate with its beautiful view of downtown and right behind the Parroquia and finally, the wedding. But first of all, every couple Nahuel and I shoot in Mexico tell us the same exact thing, "we love the Mexican culture, but we especially love the food” and this wasn't the exception for this welcome party!

If you're planning a wedding in Mexico, more specifically in San Miguel, you cannot miss having the goodies of our Mexican food; hand made tortillas for tacos, hand made gorditas, esquites, spicy salsa and of course, churros and fresh ice cream for dessert. Naturally, everybody looked so happy at this terrific party and not to mention the cocktails… yes tequila all the time. It was a long, hot, first day and all the love Shaeda and Brian’s family and friends shouted was transmitted to us too and we were so ready for the wedding day.

I've been dreaming of shooting at the legendary Casa Hyder. I knew it was a San Miguel's lush dream, a gorgeous house filled with its gardens and its collection of antiques from all over the world. This place offers so many awesome spaces to have a wedding celebration and be photographed, it is absolutely crazy. A multicultural wedding ceremony was held by sunset, honoring the mexican-persian-jewish ancestry of the bride and groom, it was beautiful and original.

After sharing vows in one of the amazing patios of the house, people went upstairs where the cocktails started and the atmosphere was something out of a movie. Later and downstairs, Shaeda and Brian made their big entrance and danced while everybody was watching them and smiling. The candles were lit and as the sun went down, a sky filled with stars shined above the guests while dinner was served.

These two and their guests danced and laughed for the rest of the night and somewhere between that, they were surprised when they were lifted out on the chairs while everybody cheered like a good jewish wedding.

The sad part now, there’s a moment that both Nahuel and I really hate about the weddings and that’s the moment when we have to say goodbye. This one was hard, there’s an honest connection between everything that happens and all the emotions, we are observers of all and you can really feel it when you leave. So, we were trying to say goodbye to everyone but not before Shaeda and Brian made us have a tequila shot with them and we said yes for the first time ever in a wedding. (Yes, you guys started something!)

As I said at the beginning of this long post, I have a lot of words but I don’t think all of them can really describe and thank what we lived those amazing days photographing this wonderful couple. It was a perfect wedding with all its events and I would love to mention as well that the Penzi team working on this was amazing.

Thank you Shaeda and Brian, I’ll think of you every time I have a tequila shot henceforth. Love you guys.
